Woman gets third breast to make herself unattractive to men

It seems the Florida massage therapist who claims to have gotten a third breast implanted to avoid
dating (and maybe land an MTV reality show) was not telling the truth. Surprise! 21-year-old Jasmine
Tridevil told a local radio station that she went to great lengths to find a plastic surgeon who would perform the procedure and was only able to get the augmentation if she signed a nondisclosure agreement, effectively making her account unverifiable. Of course, alternative methods of verification would be simply to look at Tridevil’s reported third
breast, which the team at Snopes decided to do. A quick look at one of Tridevil’s YouTube videos reveals that the alleged implant looks, um, quite different from the rest of her body. Given that the entire story is likely a hoax, Tridevil’s attempt at fame only underscores why it would, in fact, be so difficult to get a third breast augmentation. As one plastic surgeon told BuzzFeed, the request would set off serious red flags about the patient’s mental health, and one would be hard-pressed to find a doctor who would breach medical ethics so quickly.
A 21-year-old Florida woman claims to have had a third breast surgically added to her chest in an odd, creative effort to deter male suitors. Jasmine Tridevil, a Tampa-based massage therapist, says she decided to undergo the unprecedented augmentationspecifically “to make [herself] unattractive to men.” She also hopes to have an MTV reality show.
In a recent radio interview, Tridevil (not her real name) described her struggle to find a doctor who would perform the surgery, telling the host that she spoke with “50 or 60 doctors” and spent nearly $20,000 on her third boob. A number of surgeons said the procedure would be a breach of ethics, and Tridevil says she had to sign a nondisclosure agreement with the doctor who eventually performed
her surgery for that very reason. The surgeon was able to add a nipple to Tridevil’s “mini implant,” but the patient had to have an areola tattooed around it. As Nilesh Sojitra, a doctor unaffiliated with the surgery, told BuzzFeed, Tridevil’s case appears to be one where the patient should have been
rebuffed.
